I don't know whether this is Common or Wood Sandpiper, because the woody has been here a lot recently. Somebody will tell me!

ReplyDeleteGreat shots, Bob. Unless it's something REALLY exotic, I reckon it's a Common Sandpiper. The clue is the white bit that shows on the body in front of the wing.

DeleteIn North America "woody" is a euphemism for something else entirely, and that was what I was, tongue firmly in cheek, referring to.......

Shorebirds are so very hard to ID (of course for me most birds are...I am a constant amateur)! Lovely series, especially enjoyed the ones with the wing action!
