The Herring Gull lives on roof tops, by the sea, factories and dockyards. They rarely settle in towns. They are always diving after scraps, of fish that have been thrown away.

The Black Swan was taken on a visit to Slimbridge WWT, which is why they will never be on our lakes and rivers. They come from Australia. They are like ours, only black instead of white.

The Song Thrush is the most tuneful of all the birds in this country. This year, I’m afraid; they don’t seem to be so many. I hope that they are in next year crop!
