The commonest small wader found along the coast. It has a slightly down-curved bill and a distinctive black belly patch in breeding plumage. It feeds in flocks in winter, sometimes numbering thousands, roosting on nearby fields, saltmarshes and shore when the tide is high. (RSPB)
Bob, this is a bird we have in common, I photographed them often in Florida and they pass through here in Utah to their breeding grounds! I like #4 the best too. I also like the name Alpine beach runner!
This bird is really sweet and lovely which such a pretty plumage, and your photos are ever so good Bob - I love how the water ripples and shines. The last picture is my favorite! :-)
