Really interesting images, Bob. Not many people get to see the eggs of the Common Crane! - pity about the unnatural adornments from a visual point of view, although I can understand why. Best wishes - - - Richard
Hi Bob, Another set of super images, wonderful to see the bird turning the eggs, mind they are a good sized egg. Beautiful bird but not much of a nest builder. All the best John
Hi Bob, Oh my god, I don't like theses rings, at least we recognize her. But your pictures are very beautiful ! It's rare to see a Common crane in nesting !
Hello Bob, neat shots of the crane with the eggs. I hope all is well there. I am sorry to be so late commenting. I just got home from our road trip and I am now trying to catch up on my commenting. Thanks so much for linking up your post. Have a happy day and weekend ahead.
How marvelous Bob, hope those eggs hatch nicely so you can share the young. There has been a current story on FB about a pair of Sandhill Crane that successfully raised a Peking Duckling from egg being placed in wrong nest. Sweetest story ever ;)
Good luck to Mother Crane! (Perfect post for USA Mother's Day which is today, Sunday the 13th, although I am sure you weren't even thinking of that, since Mothering Sunday in England is on a different date!)...... She is a beautiful crane and certainly well-banded!
That’s a lot of bling on one bird!
ReplyDeleteLovely captures Bob. Hope they are successful.
ReplyDeleteThat crane is a heap more flexible than I am. If I was to try and get down to those precious eggs I would probably fall and crush them.
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha EC, it's good that we don't lay eggs.

ReplyDeleteA delight to see, Bob
ReplyDeleteDoes the crane ever sit on the eggs? The nest seemed ... not a nest ... a few sticks among the rocks. I learned a lot from these pictures!
ReplyDeleteThe Crane was standing up for a while, she/he was manoeuvre it's eggs Angie.
DeleteLovely.
ReplyDeleteHi Bob.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully on the nest with the eggs.
Groettie from Patricia.
Cranes rock. I'm struck by the banding. Kind of obtrusive. Jeez.
ReplyDeleteNice shots

ReplyDeleteNice to see you Eileen, hope you had a beautiful trip.
DeleteAwesome shots. I, too, am curious about the human jewelry added. I just recently saw a banded bird for the first time.
ReplyDeleteTerri, some people don't like it very much, in fact, I am in two minds myself.
DeleteGeweldige foto's Bob en mooi om te zien dat hij of zij de eieren draait lieve groetjes Daniëlle
