Beautiful photos of these wild duck Bob. This duck is a subspecies of the real wild duck, his parents have mated with another kind of duck. I hope you understand what I mean to say. Greetings Irma
That's what I had in mind too, Bob. Maybe a Mallard crossbreeding. Your pictures are great as always. Have nice weekend with hopefully dry weather. Greetings, Joke
Is this a quiz...I'll opt for Aylesbury cross. It's not a problem. He is probably an it. An inbetweeny. Just goes to show that black/ white/ yellow/ coffee....we humans have cracked the job.
Great shots Bob, especially the one with the droplet of water, this is a really pretty duck, I have a shot of a duck. It is beautiful and have been trying to find out what it is, am going to put it in next post, maybe someone can enlighten me.

Mallards have been known to mate with black ducks, call ducks, Rouen ducks and other farm yard ducks. This one is so pretty with the extra green on it's back.
maybe a male mallard/muscovy cross. we had a hen mallard/muscovy cross here for a couple of years. they are mule ducks so can't reproduce.
