Look what I saw this afternoon, it was a brood of Mallard ducklings, now in November!!!!!!!!!!!! How many more have people seen them? I blame the father, he's got a voracious appetite.
Oh my Bob...what a catch...wow, have never heard of this before. I only knew about spring hatchings...wow winter is on it's way...here is hoping for a good life for these sweet ones! Keep up with them for us~
Hmmm got to thinking, maybe where this is, the landowners could put out a wooden dog house or something for the mom and young to get into for harsh cold. That is what they have at a local park, for their ducks which are grown ducks~
But Bobe, you have to take care of this little duckling!! It will never survive the winter - I fell so sorr!.
And yes, these islandic horses are living on the fields the whole year. The little one, which came in July, is born on the grass - without any human help. I love them, too.
I've just read on the BBC News website that there's also a new brood of Mallard at the London Wetlands Centre! Lets hope they all make it through the winter ok...[;o)
Oh little sweeties but born so late? I hope the winter is kind to them.. the do grow quickly. Mama looks so serene and proud as female mallards tend to look. Lovely shots. And a favourite music selection from Lenny.. a native Montrealer, as am I.
Hi Bob, it does seem late in the year for baby ducks. I hope they survive the winter. They are cuties, great captures.
