Hi Bob: The scientific name you use is a little out of date. Gadwall was placed in the genus Mareca some time ago, hence the correct scientific name is now Mareca strepera.

Love the subtle marking and colours on this species. What looks like a dull grey duck certainly comes to life when you look up close. Nice captures Bob.
