OMG--what an atmospheric and beautiful series of images! I so love your work, Bob, and I love how the days and images change with weather, circumstance and chance. Thank you for showing this owl in repose.
Hi Bob, Brilliant, what a wonderful bird to see for the first time, they are such a fascinating bird to watch, they have such beautiful eyes. I was watching two on Thursday afternoon but they were much to far away to even think of taking an image. Brilliant set of images. All the best, John
Thanks for your visit and comment on my blog. With thanks to Anni at I'd Rather B Birdin' for the ID, I think the hawk is a juvenile Red-shouldered Hawk, Buteo lineatus Hope you are having a great weekend!
These are wonderful shots, Bob. I particularly like the fact that you are showing the bird in its environment. Sometimes it's good to see this, rather than a close-up portrait of the bird. The fact that this was your first makes it even more special, and I'm so pleased that you managed to photograph it so well. I can fully imagine how excited you must be! My very best wishes to you for the week ahead - - - Richard
Awesome bird! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteGreat sighting, Bob. You must have been thrilled. Unlike some other things in life the first sighting of a bird is always the best!
