Photographed at Speech House, on the log, Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, UK.
It has been about 6 years since I photographed the Hawfinch, at last I done it. This one I think a is female, but I may be wrong.
Please look at my website bobswildlife.co.uk. There is a photo of a Fallow Deer. And a Pink footed Goose by Dave Key in the 'Guest photographer.
An incredible series, of a bird that seems to be everywhere this winter, and in greater numbers too
ReplyDeleteExtraordinary shots, Bob. I wish we had these guys in Central Florida...make my hikes a lot more exciting.
ReplyDeleteHello Bob!:) Stunningly beautiful images, and if it is a female, it's a very colourful female bird, for a change!! I have never seen one here in Portugal.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sonja, the Hawfinch is beautiful, and the one I showed you, was it's tail missing, so I think I'll have to go back and try photograph it again. I have heard there are in Spain, so maybe you just missed out.
DeleteWe considered ourselves very lucky to encounter this species a couple of times in Europe in October, but we never got photographs anywhere approaching yours. Great job, Bob!
