Mallard Duck male (Anas platyrhynchos)

He is standing on a piece of ice, didn't want to move, MAD.

Write and tell me if you  see  any Bohemian Waxwings, we have a new section. Please look at my website bobswildlife.co.uk. There is a photo of a Nuthatch, and a photo of  the Short-eared Owl in the 'Guest Photos '. I have started a new sightings page, please feel free to add your sightings.

  6. Hi Bob, again another set of super images, Mallard Drakes are such wonderfully coloured ducks with the green on the heads varying to the amount of sun. As for standing on ice, with my luck I would go through. All the best. Regards John

  14. Gotta love Mallards... Many years ago we had a couple of pet ducks, domestic of course. However, their food and their little plastic pool attracted freeloading Mallards like crazy. This was fine since we got to learn basic duck language and behavior. Nice shots, as always, Bob.
