Ruddy Shelduck (Tadorna ferruginea)







This is an escaped duck, it lives: Balkans east through c Asia, n Africa, WINTERS: south to Nile valley, India & China
Habitat: Lakes, rivers & wet areas
Diet: Mostly plant material, also invertebrates
TitBit: In some Buddhist countries the Shelduck is specially protected as its colour is said to resemble that of the robes the monks wear.

  25. sheeze Bob, you bowl me over with your images. I'd love a prime lens working like that but couldn't handle the weight. They certainly make the best of everything. Do you ever get any 'dud' photos you actually scrap?

    1. It has the wieght of 3190g/112.5 oz not to mention, the camera and extender. I take it all on a tripod, I have to do this, to take as well I only one hand.
