  16. Sorry, Bob, but I can't agree with you and John. For me, the Pintail is the more handsome of the two - the Smew is the flashier! And both species are prone to frustratingly (for the photographer) long periods of sleeping. ;-} As usual, you have managed to capture superb detail in your shots.
