A new visitor to your blog. Wonderful photos of Mrs Woodpecker.. At the moment we have a male visiting our garden several times a day. So lovely to see.
I took my pet woodpecker with me on a walk downtown. Lots of people were pointing and staring. Finally a cop walks up, points in the direction of my woodpecker and said "'Scuse me sir, but I'm going to have to ask you to put away your pecker."
So I said, "well where is my bird going to perch then?"
Bob - do you think she knew you were there? Some of those shots - it's as if she's looking right at you! Love the profile shots - you can tell that beak can do some "damage" to a tree!
Lovely set Bob.I also photographed this species this weekend. Shots @ http://ngbirding.blogspot.com
