I'm totally in awe of you having been there, Bob! I would love to have been there that day - fabulous!!!! Have a totally wonderful Christmas - - - Richard
Hi Bob, Appears to have been a wonderful place to have visited for the Solstice, I am amazed as to how many people braved the weather to visit. All the best to you and your family for Christmas and the New Year, John
We took part in the Winter Solstice celebration at Mission San Juan Bautista. The friars had situated the church so that the first morning light walks up the aisle to the altar on the solstice. The morning was heavy with fog but the sun found its way in. Peace, love, and joy of the holiday season to you. :-)
Amazing place! Happy holidays Bob;-)
ReplyDeleteI would have enjoyed being there. I am not metaphysical in any way, but there would be something significant about being there on the Solstice.
ReplyDeleteDoes something visible happen at Stonehenge during this time? I mean like shadows and sunlight. I've heard an idea that it's a giant clock.
