I am not quite sure whether it literally has only one eye, or we are seeing it from that perspective. If truly one eye is not functional it would seem to be an easy target for a Sparrowhawk or other predator, coming up on it from the blind side.
Echoing David. And hope that it is a perspective issue.
Yes it is EC.
Jack is BACK!
The photo series is beautiful. Does he really have one eye? It looks like yes ...
Those birds are so much here!
Awesome. Superb photos. Jackdaw is beautiful and wise bird.
Jackdaws are very beautiful. Great photos.
Thank you Matti.
Hello Bob, you Jackdaw is handsome. Beautiful photos. Happy Wednesday, enjoy your day!
Thanks Eileen, they are handsome.
Hola Bob,una foto bonita,yo creo que tiene una herida en el ojo por lo cual no lo abre.Un saludo.
Un cuervo absolutamente negro y con un pico fuerte y afilado.Un abrazo,
You right Miguel.
Before I saw your header, Bob, I wondered why the bird seemed to have a dark eye instead of the usual very obvious white eye (which I always think gives them a sinister look), and then I saw David's comment. It does, indeed, only have one eye - poor thing!Take good care. Best wishes - - - Richard
Richard, you are right, it was only one eye.
Goodness me, it cannot be easy for him.Great photographs Bob.All the best Jan
Good name for a Raymond Chandler private eye--- Jack Daw! He even resembles his famous Maltese cousin!
One eyed Jack but good images of him Bob
Gorgeous and so black are the feathers.
Me gusta el color negro tan intenso de su plumaje.Saludos.
perhaps dangerous when he flies ! beautiful bird even with only one eye
I think the miscellany of blackbirds are all cool
Hi Bob,the jackdaw is described here in the Netherlands as a very annoying bird. If I then see those beautiful pictures as you made them from the jackdaw, it is almost hard to believe. Beautiful pictures.
Hi Bob,After looking at the images and then the header, the poor thing has as you say just the one eye.Must be vulnerable to attack on that side.Well spotted and super images. All the best, John
Yes, he/she is a terrible state John, but, that's nature for you.
