Harris Hawk - Parabuteo unicinctus

The Harris's hawk formerly known as the bay-winged hawk or dusky hawk, is a medium-large bird of prey that breeds from the southwestern United States south to Chile, central Argentina, and Brazil.

  6. I'm pretty sure we have them here in the NW occasionally. Some years ago we brought home a couple of baby (chicken) chicks with the idea of having them grown up in our back yard. What looked like a Harris swooped down and said "Thank you very much" as he left with one. THe remaining one went back to the farm. Super pictures, as always.
