Common Snipe - Gallinago gallinago

Photographed at Rushy Hide, Slimbridge WWT, Gloucestershire, GB.
I took these on dry but gloomy type of day, also, they were a long long way, my excuse.

  6. Hi Bob,
I find most of my shots are long distance, that's my excuse out the way.
Snipe are such a difficult bird to get a decent image from, I find they are usually hidden in the reeds, not very often in a clear shot.
    Super set of images.
    All the best, John

  13. Great images, Bob. I have no idea why it is, but I always get excited when I see a Snipe. I think that they are wonderful birds. It's only fairly recently that I realised that they had bendy bills! My best wishes to you - - - Richard
