Your lovely reflective portraits are great -- and certainly show us where this bird gets its name! What a beauty. Fun to listen to the Dead (being from Eugene Oregon there is even a weekly program on the college radio station dedicated to their music ... what a long, strange trip....)
Grateful Dead is sort of the local band of the North Bay I now live in. Terrapin Landing - a bar/restaurant/performance space down the road is owned by Phil Lesh. They all lived in a commune near here after leaving the Haight-Ashbury (sometimes referred to as the "Hashberry")
