Little Grebe (Tachybaptus ruficollis)

This one is almost perfect, it was on its way to the other bank.

  5. Bob, it is a good shot but it looks as if it has been swimming in oil or detergent. It looks very wet.

    1. Adrian, they are always in and out of the water, that means, their own detergent.

    2. Bob, I realise that ducks swim and dive but they usually shed water unless they are ill or have swum in something nasty. This one looked a bit damp to me but what do I know?
