Does it seem like something wrong with its beak?
A large, long-tailed gamebird. Males have rich chestnut, golden-brown and black markings on body and tail, with a dark green head and red face wattling. Females are mottled with paler brown and black. They were introduced to the UK long ago and more recent introductions have brought in a variety of races and breeds for sport shooting.
SAD, VERY SAD.
poor baby, but he seems to do well despite the deformity!
ReplyDeleteYes there is something wrong. It's a genetic mutation caused by inbreeding. The shooters have a similar problem. They are born stupid but run our country or trash it depending what job they were born to do.
ReplyDeleteYou are alright, I do believe that the they are stupid, you know who I mean!
DeleteWith this beautiful bird's beak is something wrong, but most importantly, he can eat. Regards.
ReplyDeleteYes, that's a right thing, cheers Giga.
DeleteWhat a bawcock / corker, Bob!
ReplyDeleteThe beak does look strange, I hope it can eat alright. It is a beautiful male.. I do not like sport hunting, it is sad! Happy Sunday, Bob!
ReplyDeleteI agree, it seems that something is wrong with his beak. Too bad. Great series, Bob. Greetings from the Netherlands, Joke
ReplyDeleteReally nice pictures. We don´t see this spice often around at our latitude. You must have been pretty close. So the hunters has not been given any fun neither. -Jonny
ReplyDeleteNothing common looking about pheasant. Such gorgeous critters.
ReplyDeleteToo bad but rich in colors.
ReplyDeleteThese shots really bring out the beauty of these pheasants, which bring back great memories of my Dad. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteIt does look a bit weird but obviously does not get in the way and stop it feeding judging by the great condition it in. Super shots Bob.
ReplyDeleteIt is sad that the pheasant's beak is deformed and BAD that shooting animals is still considered a sport. Very, very bad. If you must shoot - use targets. Killing things for fun? Hiss and spit.
ReplyDeleteHooray, we love you, you are an angel. Hiss and spit, though I would use somethings more than that. After 2 thousand years, we should be able to stop killing things, so why can't do it??????????
DeleteMaybe it's beak is damaged from ducking his head down too fast from the ***** that are trying to shoot him !!!!! Realy great set of photos Bob.
ReplyDeletepeter
You are right, and more of b******* should be imprisoned for the life.
DeleteIt would appear that there is definitely something wrong with his beak. Such a beauty, decked out in his Christmas colors!
ReplyDeleteYep, that sounds about right - gorgeous birds introduced purely for 'sport shooting'. Dear god. I do despair of the human race. I'd like to paint a few targets on their inflated fat foreheads. Bastards. Deep breath ...
ReplyDeleteYep, the bastards. Thanks Wendy.
DeletePoor bird.Great series Bob! I hate man that are hunting birds.
ReplyDeleteDimi....
Yes, I hate people that kill anything Dimi.
DeleteIt looks like a double beak.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like that way Susie.
DeleteA lot of us feel the same about our native duck shooting season in Victoria, but both our major political parties support it! Humanity has a lot to answer for! You certainly had lovely light on this beautiful bird, who does seem to be doing well despite that deformity.
ReplyDeletethey are beautiful with these feathers !
ReplyDeleteI only like image hunters !
cool pheasant
ReplyDeleteThe beak is injured, but it is amazing what birds can adapt to. Hopefully it will work things out.
ReplyDeleteYes, he is so beautiful.
DeleteIt does appear to have some kind of deformity and yet it remains just stunning and appears to be very healthy and so it is just something to accept as part of what this beauty is~
ReplyDeleteBeautiful series of photographs of the pheasant.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, there is something wrong with the beak, I hope he can survive.
I hate people who chase on birds and other animals.
I agree with you, hateful towards those that pursue birds and animals.
DeleteGreat series Bob - fantastic bird and shots! t's sad when these birds were shot for eat. :(( I refuse to eat it
ReplyDeleteGreetings and good week Crissi
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo,
What a beautiful bird! Thanks for the pictures Bob!
ReplyDeleteThat's alright Ruby.
DeleteIt seems that this pheasant has a double bill !!!!
ReplyDeleteBut the pictures are very nice Bob.
ReplyDeleteSaludos.
He does have beautiful plumage, cheers Jesús.
DeleteHola Bob.
Yes Isa, too much money.
