Incredible photos of the Smew. The black and white feathers and patterns are so elegant, and the black around the eyes. They don't seem to live in my half of the world, thanks for sharing.
It is such a gorgeous bird. I hope to see an adult male one day.I saw a juvenile male in Oshawa, ON - a vagrant here, and the only member of this species I have ever seen.
