Redshank [Tringa totanus]

As its name suggests, redshanks' most distinctive features are their bright orange-red legs. They have a medium-length bill with an orange base to match, brown speckled back and wings and paler belly. [RSPB]

Shame about the leaf.

  17. well to us blog-followers, a leaf is what it is. It's nature as much as the beautiful bird you captured. Our nature shots we always aim to be picture-perfect, but it isn't always opportune to line up a bird is it? The Redshank is great, the lighting on the 'red' at the base of the beak shows up so warmly too..

  26. Es una pena que esa hoja se interpusiera y que no pudieras captarlo de forma que se vieran toda la longitud de sus patas. En todo caso la serie resulta interesante para conocer este ave. Un abrazo,
