Bullfinch (Pyrrhula pyrrhula)

I was a little bit upset with these, shooting the wrong way. It seems that I'm not able to catch the Bullfinch properly, ah well, some time in the future....................

Woops, I slipped

  5. A tough bird to photograph at any time. Nicely caught if a little over exposed.

  18. I'm having similar problems in my garden at the moment Bob - birds feeding in the shade with bright sunlight behind them. Seems we're better off when it's a little cloudy!

You've done really well to capture this handsome fellow!!

  23. such a SUPER bird; I love them! Well it's not exactly like doing a studio portrait when we set out to take birding photographs; they're not always co-operative with facing the light rather than having it as a backdrop etc. Plus, getting them to 'stand still' long enough to get the best shot ........don't we LOVE challenges? One thing I think we display is patience. Somehow that waiting just seems to take us to another space and irons out any of the day-to-day hassles; it's all worth it.

  31. I'm sure the birds always pick their spots in the shade just to annoy us Bob! One day they'll make a mistake and we'll be there and ready to get that perfect shot!!...[;o)
