Starling (juvenile) {Sturnus vulgaris}

A nice day, or at least, half day. I found this one...........

  1. Adorable! That wonderful little crest on his head...I meant to say I saw the last of the storks in the cornfields this week, just one lone one, and rode headlong into a flock of swallows having an insect feast! Well, I thought of you and your camera on my bikeride.

  2. A lot of people here in the US detest Starlings but I find them as beautiful as any other bird. Well done! I understand they are declining in Europe, I hope something can be done about that.

  4. Ich mag diese auch gerne, doch sie werden bei uns immer weniger. Vor gut 10 Jahren zogen sie noch in großer Formation über uns hinweg. Ich weiß nicht warum sie es heute nicht mehr tun, vielleicht ist es hier jetzt warm genug zum überwintern, oder sie werden irgendwo gefangen...
