Starlings Under Attack (The Marshes, Lydney)

Flock of Starlings, under attack from whom? It is in the first picture and left hand side near the bottom.

  1. WOW! I watched several smaller birds chasing a hawk yesterday afternoon but I had a hammer in my hand instead of a camera. Lesson learned: it's hard to shoot photos with a 28 oz. framing hammer.

  2. Good capture Bob.
Not sure what it is though. Looks too big, and wrong shape to be a Peregrine or Sparrowhawk.

  5. I have seen birds of prey hunting, they are quite fierce. We have 2 couples of buzzards near where we live and I saw the four of them hunting a few weeks ago, that was quite impressive as the birds were flying and in zigzag low to avoid being caught! Quiet a show!
    Is your bird an hawk?

  9. Unos fotogramas que me recuerdan la película "Los pájaros" de Alfred Hitchcock, lo que pasa, que en este caso ellos son los atacados.

    Saludos.

  13. Thank you for these Bob, very nice...always enjoy groupings of many birds, as well as close ups. Hmmm, it looks like it may have just been a Crow, but then again...never know now~

  14. I like the last one, the dark starlings in contrast to the sky and the white seagulls against the darker background
