Mute Swan

It was a nice day, or was it. Well, I sat there at New Fancy waiting for the entourage of birds. No luck there, a van full of people that wanted to go out to pick the mushroom, I was a bit peeved that they were knocking the poor mushrooms away. So, I went away and took up my camera, hence this is it.

  7. Must be a poem today:

    The Swan

This difficult living, heavy and as if all tied up,
moving through that which has been left undone,
is like the not-quite-finished walk of the swan.

And dying, this slipping away from
the ground upon which we stand every day,
is his anxious letting himself fall—:

into the waters, which receive him gladly
and which, as if happily already gone by,
    draw back under him, wave after wave;
while the swan, infinitely calm and self-assured,
    opener and more magnificent
and more serene, allows himself to be drawn on.

  8. A beautiful bird the first shot is a cracker, the last, well eye contact is difficult to beat.

  9. Wong Ching Wah, you have no. 1 as the best, um, I will look again.

    Thanks for the poem Stefanie.

Adrian, you have no. 1 too.

In all, Number one is the best, I can't beat that.

  12. Thank you ShySongbird.

Linda, another one for No.1, I think that one is a bit out of focus, the position is alright though.

  13. Nice shots Bob... Since we've been back from France, it has been raining and windy constantly and then I got a nice infection with a gorgeous fever... So no going out at the moment except through the web ;-) when I'm ok

  14. Had to look at them again , so lovely! Bob, the top one, on the angel wings, I think the feathers are the sharpest, which is the main focus....Many times, the eye is the main focus, but this one you nailed it on those wings, in which the swan is displaying very angelically.
    Cheers, Linda
