I think most birds with very dark head colouring are difficult. I find the Bullfinch the worst.John

Three wonderful pictures Bob. I only managed to get one decent shot of this species after several attempt, so I kind of know what you mean too!
I find them hard to photograph due to the black and white on the head. When I try to highlight the eye, the white burns!Oh well!
