Raven (Forest of Dean)

It didn't last very long, the weather. But, there were some sunny intervals. Anyway, I didn't want to talk about that, I came to a place where the Ravens spend some of its time there. I caught it there, unfortunately I only got it from halfway up. Never mind!

  1. Beautiful portrait once again. They are really shy over here and you can never get this kind of picture! Well done!

  2. I've only seen Ravens twice, once in Wales and once in California. They are just staring to come back to Ohio...one of these days...
    Great shots Bob!

  3. Its really hard to get them close, but there is a woman that feeds them with all sorts, cheese and a bit of meat left from her own dinner. They will not come unless she's there, Chris.

    Dave, they are beautiful birds.

  4. There are lots of ravens where I spend my summers and whenever I hear their "croak" in the sky, I have to smile. My property backs up to a cemetery and one of these days, I'll get "the perfect picture"! ~karen

  5. Well done Bob, Nice nice shot of the Corvus corax.
Common Raven has been revered as a spiritual figure or god.

  8. Great shot Bob....captures the powerful presence of the Raven. I have witnessed them here in Wicklow harassing breeding Guillemots, Kittiwakes and Fulmars on the cliffs of Wicklow Head.
